Many Youth Club’s offer activities such as boxing, arts and crafts, athletics and sports, recreation, education, personal development, and are usually open to all young people between the ages of 8 ? 21 years old.

So, how can Fired Up Technologies help Youth Clubs level up?

#The Problem

There are already a wide variety of places that young people can go ? although this varies significantly between neighbourhoods. In England there are approximately 12,000 youth clubs. However, young people still say that they do not like the facilities that are available in their area. For many, ?hanging around? shopping malls and streets is not something they choose to do; it is because there are no attractive alternatives. Among nearly 1,000 young people consulted during a Review, only?37 per cent felt that there was a good choice of things for them to do in their local area.

To combat this, Youth Clubs need to keep pace and attract new demographics to their facilities, ensuring all visitors are engaged and remain interested; especially when trying to appeal to the younger generations and digital natives, as young people have more sophisticated expectations than previous generations.

All young people should be able to benefit from high quality opportunities in their leisure time. While more are participating than ever before, it is still the most disadvantaged and marginalised young people who are missing out on enjoyable activities that offer the chance to mix with others and gain a sense of achievement. The challenge is to make services available that are both attractive to all young people and effective in reaching out to engage those who may not otherwise access them
